Cases covered by Dateline: Secrets Uncovered in Season 14
The concluding episode of Season 14, “The Road Trip,” centered on the shocking homicide of Dr. Teresa Sievers. With two children and a promising career in holistic medicine, Dr. Sievers aspired to share her expertise on a national television platform. Tragically, her ambitions were shattered when she was discovered brutally murdered on her kitchen floor in Florida, shortly after coming home ahead of her family from a trip. The investigation hit a standstill until a surprising tip from a woman far away brought a new perspective that shifted the entire case’s trajectory.
Meanwhile, in Nevada, another premature death unfolded unexpectedly in “Part of the Plan.” Staff Sgt. Nathan Paet, a young father of four, was preparing for his overnight shift at Nellis Air Force Base when he was ambushed and shot dead in his own garage. Investigators were committed to unraveling the mystery of this crime that disturbed the typically serene community of Mountain’s Edge, situated 13 miles from the Las Vegas Strip. Their probe ultimately revealed a plot so malevolent that an experienced detective described it as “almost more than you could bear as a human being.”
Kelsie Schelling was on the verge of starting an exciting new chapter in her life when she mysteriously disappeared after leaving work in February of 2013. The episode, titled “The Night Kelsie Disappeared,” retraced Schelling’s final movements that day, beginning with a sonogram appointment to confirm the 21-year-old’s pregnancy. After working her regular shift at a Colorado flooring store, she got into her car and drove off into the night before vanishing. It would take years to determine what happened to the mom-to-be and bring the person responsible for her disappearance to justice.
