CHICAGO (WCIA) – Illinois men’s basketball is adding a rematch with Alabama to its 2025-26 schedule.

The Illini and the Crimson Tide will play in the United Center in Chicago on Wednesday, Nov. 19, Illinois Athletics announced on Thursday.

Brad Underwood’s team lost to Alabama in Birmingham, 100-87, in November of 2024.

Illinois men’s basketball is 1-4 all-time against the Crimson Tide.

It’ll be the first time in the United Center for the Fighting Illini since the 2023 Big Ten Tournament.

Since 1994 until 2018, Illinois regularly played games at the United Center, which included numerous Big Ten Tournaments and a trip for the NCAA Tournament.

Overall, Illinois men’s basketball team boasts a 38-18 record for matchups held at the United Center. Specifically, they have a 19-9 record for regular-season contests there, with an 18-8 showing against non-conference teams.

Illinois Athletics mentions that ticket details for the game at the Bulls/Blackhawks venue will be released soon. UI premium and season ticket holders, as well as I FUND members, will have priority access.
