Ben Affleck is not thrilled that his longtime Hollywood friend Tom Cruise is dating his ex-girlfriend Ana de Armas.

“Ben is somewhat of a jealous person, yes,” a source revealed to DailyMail.com. “He had a strong connection with Ana, and when she decided to move on, it left him feeling down. Seeing her in a happy relationship with his friend feels a bit strange for him.”

Affleck’s friends have joked that the star ‘should get revenge on Cruise by dating his ex-wife Katie Holmes,’ who appears to be single these days. 

However, Ben lives in Los Angeles while the Dawson’s Creek cutie calls New York City home so that would be challenging logistically. 

It appears that Ben, who once dated Tom’s friend Gwyneth Paltrow, has always harbored a hint of envy over Cruise’s exceptional action film career, which has brought him immense wealth.

‘I think every working actor in Hollywood is jealous of Tom’s success and Ben is not any different,’ the source added, downplaying the tension.

Cruise and de Armas have been romantically involved since Valentine’s Day. They were recently seen enjoying a leisurely walk in a London park the past week (pictured with their security) 

Ben dated de Armas from March 2020 to January 2021 and the pair were not shy to flaunt their romance – in contrast to her low-key relationship with Cruise 

The source then noted: ‘But Ben is also happy for Tom. I mean, he admires that a colleague in his sixties is still going hard on the big screen. Ben hopes to be so lucky one day.’

Ben dated de Armas from March 2020 to January 2021. Cruise and de Armas have been in a romance since Valentine’s Day. 

Most recently they were spotted enjoying a romantic stroll in a London park.

A video captured by an eagle-eyed fan showed the couple enjoying the sunshine on Ana’s 37th birthday last week. 

Surrounded by security, Ana was dressed in a casual pale-pink T-shirt and skinny jeans, accessorising with a Louis Vuitton cross-body bag.

Ben and Tom have another woman in common: Gwyneth Paltrow.

Ben dated the Oscar-winning actress on and off from 1997 to 2000, and Tom kissed her in a movie over 20 years ago.

Paltrow said during an interview: ‘I did a little cameo once at the beginning of Austin Powers 3, I think it was, and I got to make out with Tom Cruise. He was an amazing kisser!’ 

The film was 2002’s Austin Powers In Goldmember.

And let’s not forget that Tom danced with Ben’s ex-wife Jennifer Lopez at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards. 

This comes after word that Lopez promised her children she’d be ‘stronger and better’ after her divorce from Affleck.

The 55-year-old singer-and-actress – who has 17-year-old twins Max and Emme with ex-husband Marc Anthony – filed for divorce from the Accountant 2 star in August last year after just two years of marriage.

Friends have joked that Affleck ‘should get revenge on Cruise by dating his ex-wife Katie Holmes,’ who appears to be single these days (Holmes pictured on May 6) 

She’s told how her kids helped bring her ‘peace’ during a ‘difficult’ time.

She told Spain’s El Pais newspaper: ‘I said, ‘I promise you, this is a difficult time, but you’re going to see that I’ll come out the other side stronger and better.’ I promised them that and I did it.

‘And they feel it now. That gives me a great sense of peace in my life.’

Jennifer is ‘proud’ of how far she’s moved on with her life since her divorce and thinks she and her twins are all ‘stronger and better’ for coming through the rocky period in their lives.

She added: ‘I’m happier that I’m a step further along than I was a year ago, two years ago, three years ago… I’m proud of myself for that and I’m proud that I was able to navigate my children through difficult times, that they’re stronger and better because of it.

‘So, it’s a great time to go out there and dance and sing and have a good time with everybody.’

Although Jennifer and Ben – who has Violet, 19, Seraphina, 16, and 13-year-old Samuel with ex-wife Jennifer Garner – are no longer together, their families have remained close and the ‘Hustlers’ star’s twins joined their former step-siblings at ‘The Accountant 2’ premiere last month.

Ben told Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet: ‘It’s a great night. The kids are here, Jen’s kids are here. I’m very, very excited.

‘I’m proud of the movie, I love the movie and I love when all the kids come out. It’s really fun, it’s exciting.’

The 52-year-old star praised Jennifer as ‘spectacular’ who will always be ‘important’ to him.

Praised for ‘continuing those relationships’ with the kids, he said: ‘Listen, I don’t read the stuff online much, and sometimes I get the sense that people perpetuate this idea of … they wanna find something negative to talk about.

‘For the record, Jennifer Lopez is spectacular, great to my kids, great ongoing relationship with them. I love her kids. They’re wonderful. She’s [an] enormously important, tremendous person of a lot of integrity who I adore and am grateful to.’
