WAYNESBORO, Ga. () – The Scott Family Farm has Christmas trees, honeybees and everything in between.

In this episode of Your Hometown Roadtrip, Brandon Dawson and the crew travel to Scott Family Farm in Waynesboro to chat with farmer Stephanie Scott about their offerings.

What is Scott Family Farm all about?

“At Scott Family Farm in Waynesboro, we’re an educational farm that operates hands-on,” stated Scott. “We really encourage locals to visit and learn about homesteading. We offer homeschooling classes, as well as practical experiences with honey bees and Christmas trees. As part of our daily operations, we host school visits, homeschooling sessions every week, along with adult classes. Education is truly our foundation.”

How did this journey begin?

“We’ve been established here since 2008, with community education initiatives starting in 2013,” she explained. “After I retired, we had to decide on our next steps for retirement. Owning a small piece of land, we envisioned expanding the farm so that my husband and I could develop our interest in Christmas trees and honeybees together.”

What do you want people to take away from Scott Family Farm when they visit?

“I want them to know that it’s somewhere that they can feel welcome, that they can ask questions and they walk away with more knowledge than what they came in,” she said. “We really want people to experience nature and how they can grow their own food and really just be a good neighbor to each other.”

Scott Family Farm is located at 550 Barnhart Drive in Waynesboro. You can find them on social media on their Facebook and website to keep up with the latest at the farm.
