In Savannah, Georgia, a leading basketball talent from the southeast region has chosen to embark on his college basketball journey at North Greenville University.

Zayden Edwards says he spoke with over 30 schools before ultimately picking the Division II university in Tigerville, South Carolina.

Edwards said seeing his older brother, Zyere, go through the recruitment process two years ago really helped him.

“I anticipated a fun experience, and it truly was,” remarked Edwards, reflecting on the recruiting process. “But alongside the excitement came significant stress, as I realized I could only choose one school. Zyere guided me, ensuring I posed the right questions.”

“During recruitment, schools often highlight only their advantages,” he continued. “So, it’s crucial to know which questions to ask. This includes probing into aspects people might overlook but are essential for making an informed decision about committing to a place for the next four years.”

Edwards leaves St. Andrew’s after a prolific high school career. Among the many accolades he earned during his career as a Lion: becoming the school’s all-time leading scorer, winning three state championships in four years, being named GIAA player of the year twice and not losing a region game in four years.

Sitting at the table with Edwards during his signing were his father, older brother and younger sister. His mother watched via Facetime.
