Corn Crib of Newman closing, offering final festival weekend event

NEWMAN, Ill. (WCIA) — Corn Crib of Newman is set to shut its doors for good next month, but not without offering its customers one last hurrah.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, the family-run eatery revealed that it would be shutting down on June 15. They mentioned that as they gear up for their final day, some changes would be noticeable in the upcoming weeks.

From May 19 onward, the restaurant will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. The operating hours will remain unchanged for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, but menu and seating options will be limited. Moreover, Saturday will no longer have dining room service, with the bar opening in the afternoon and remaining open until 1 a.m., offering a restricted bar menu.

“Running a business that united the community was a source of joy, and knowing that we played a part in so many of your memories fills us with gratitude that will linger long after our doors close permanently,” the restaurant expressed.

However, Corn Crib of Newman will be hosting one final Freedom Festival weekend. The celebration will include live music, karaoke, cold drinks and more. Any rentals scheduled from now until June 15 will be honored and fully operational.

The restaurant’s Facebook page will continue to post updates in its final weeks.
