JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Early Tuesday morning, a man succumbed to multiple stab wounds at an assisted living facility in Northwest Jacksonville, as reported by Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Steve Rudlaff to First Coast News.

Rudlaff stated that around 2:15 a.m., patrol officers arrived at the Morris Manors Apartments, located at 9050 Norfolk Blvd., in response to the stabbing incident.

When officers arrived, Rudlaff said they found the unidentified man suffering from multiple stab wounds. According to Rudlaff, the man was between 70 and 75 years old.

Rudlaff said members of the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department then responded to the scene, and upon their arrival, the man was pronounced dead.

According to Rudlaff, video JSO received shows the man walking out of an apartment on a second floor, appearing to have already been stabbed, and collapsed in the lobby of the apartment complex.

Rudlaff further explained that officers detained a woman that was inside of the apartment the man walked out of. He said she is between 65 and 80 years old.

“At this time, we believe it was an isolated incident,” Rudlaff said.
