After more than two years as a co-host on Live with Kelly and Mark, Mark Consuelos has become familiar with the early morning routine and realized that late-night activities during the week are largely a thing of the past.
Kelly Ripa admitted on Tuesday that she and Consuelos were “a little tired” after attending a “beautiful event” the night before.
“We don’t usually go out on weekdays, but when we do, it’s like spotting unicorns in the wild,” she joked. “We forget how to find our seats or how to eat properly.”
Consuelos recalled, “I used to drag you out during the week.”
Ripa agreed, “All the time.”
While Ripa claimed it was her husband’s “favorite” thing to do before he became her co-host on Live, Consuelos was baffled by his old antics.
“Initially, I thought, ‘What’s so hard about it? It’s just an hour in the morning. You just go in and do it,'” he commented on Ripa’s experience hosting Live. “But now, I look at the clock and think, ‘Wow, it’s already 9:00 p.m. I’m 45 minutes past my usual bedtime.’”
Ripa added, “You used to make me go to dinner at 9:00.”
Consuelos quipped, “What was wrong with me?”
Ripa then seized the opportunity to rib Consuelos.
“Oh, I mean, so much,” she joked. “This is only a one-hour show, and we have to interview celebrities.”
