RCSO: Suspect in custody related to 2022 murder investigation

AUGUSTA, Ga. () – The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office reported the apprehension of a suspect linked to a murder that occurred in November 2022. The arrest occurred on Friday.

Authorities revealed that 21-year-old Ricardo Daggett was detained following a Grand Jury Arrest Warrant for charges of Murder and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime, with the arrest taking place on May 16.

Daggett was wanted in reference to the shooting death of 46-year-old Ahmed Jabari Hill Sr. that occurred on Tullocks Hill Drive, Nov. 20, 2021.

In connection with the same case, Angel Burley, 40, and Stephanie Overton, 38, faced charges and were taken into custody in 2022. Overton was employed as a pre-kindergarten teacher at Lake Forest Hills Elementary School when she was arrested.

The United States Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force assisted RCSO in the apprehension of Daggett.
