The Jacksonville Aviation Authority advised travelers to visit the airport’s website and register for updates on the hourly garage’s status.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Following a fire at a parking garage in Jacksonville International Airport, the Jacksonville Aviation Authority (JAA) provided guidance on Saturday for travelers affected by the incident.
JAA instructed those with vehicles in the affected hourly garage to check the airport’s website and subscribe for regular status updates about the garage’s accessibility.
According to JAA, travelers will be tasked with answering questions such as providing contact information and the license plate number of their vehicle.
Furthermore, JAA said the hourly garage is closed indefinitely due to the garage’s structural damage, and that the daily garage and daily surface lot are closed to incoming vehicles.
However, travelers with vehicles already in the daily garage and daily surface lot can exit, JAA said.
The airport said in an X post at 10:08 a.m. Saturday that all on-airport parking is currently full. The aipoTravelers should find alternate means of transportation to the terminal, park at off-airport lots, or get dropped off at the terminal.
