The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office identified 28-year-old Michael Byron as the suspect in the deadly October 2024 shooting.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office reported on Monday that a Duval County jail inmate faces murder charges linked to the shooting death of a man in 2024.

Police identified 28-year-old Michael Byron as the suspect in a deadly shooting on Oct. 23, 2024, that left 28-year-old Shawndell Robinson dead.

At approximately 2 a.m. on the night of the incident, police arrived at the junction of Arlington Road and Mayer Drive, close to Bruce Park, where they discovered Robinson deceased.

The Medical Examiner’s Officer later ruled his death a homicide.

Police said Byron was identified as the suspect after investigators reviewed evidence.
