Inside Diddy’s 1st Memorial Day in hellish prison he shares with Luigi Mangione that’s plagued with rats and raw sewage

Sean “Diddy” Combs is experiencing his first Memorial Day in jail, where he will enjoy a meal of barbecue chicken and engage in a game of basketball as his federal sex trafficking trial pauses for the holiday.

He shares the same meal as fellow inmate and alleged UnitedHealthcare CEO assassin, Luigi Mangione, as both are confined in the dilapidated federal prison plagued with rats and raw sewage.

The fallen hip hop star, now 55, is held at the infamous Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York City, as he faces charges of racketeering and sex trafficking.

He was sent to the famously disgusting facility after he was arrested and pleaded not guilty to the federal charges in September, making this his first Memorial Day weekend behind bars.

As his landmark trial took the day off for the national holiday, Combs will stay busy with some friendly inmate competition on Monday.

Combs, who lives in a fourth-floor dormitory with about 20 other men, will participate in festive games, prison officials told People.

The inmates will be allowed to hold spades card games and dominoes, the outlet reported.

They’ll also be allowed to compete in a three-on-three basketball tournament and a soccer tournament.

As far as food goes, Combs and the other MDC inmates are eating one of the normal meals on the rotating prison cafeteria menu.

Memorial Day kicked off with a breakfast consisting of fruit, cereal, skim milk, and some sort of breakfast cake.

For lunch, inmates can have barbecue chicken, macaroni and cheese, mixed vegetables, fruit, and a holiday dessert.

Dinner consists of chicken and rice, pinto beans, canned corn, bread, and a drink.

The holiday weekend is much less luxurious than the party lifestyle that Combs was used to before his fall from grace.

It comes after Combs reportedly had a meltdown over Christmas because he couldn’t believe he was still behind bars for the holiday.

He reportedly begged staff to take him to the prison hospital while he said he was suffering a breakdown.

The rapper was also denied bail twice.

BEFORE Sean “Diddy” Combs’ arrest in September 2024, it was highly speculated that the rap star would find himself in custody after he was repeatedly hit with disturbing accusations – and had two of his mansions raided by the feds.

His mounting legal troubles finally came to a head on September 17, when he was charged with three federal counts, including sex trafficking, for allegedly forcing victims to take part in drug-fueled sex parties he called “Freak Offs.”

Hours before his arrest, The U.S. Sun exclusively revealed the feds investigating Combs were secretly liaising with Tupac Shakur murder prosecutors on gangland activities.

The development also came after Combs was named 77 times in documents submitted by prosecutors in the Tupac murder case.

Aside from the Tupac probe, Combs was already facing a slew of lawsuits, including one he settled with his ex, Cassie Ventura, after she accused him of rape and abuse.

Disturbing hotel surveillance video from 2016 showed Combs chasing Cassie down and then punching, kicking, and beating her in a hallway.

Two months earlier, in March 2024, two of Combs’ mansions were raided by federal investigators, who seized three AR-15s, drugs, and 1,000 bottles of lube which were part of his “Freak Off” supplies.

In addition to his federal criminal charges, Combs also faces a handful of lawsuits with allegations of sexual assault, harassment, and sex trafficking dating back to the early 1990s.

Music producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones filed one suit in February 2024, claiming Combs forced him to hire sex workers and participate in sex acts while he worked on his latest album.

Combs has denied any wrongdoing and pleaded not guilty to the federal sex trafficking charges against him, but his battle is far from over.

He faces life in prison if he’s convicted on all counts.

Even with his wealth and status, which jurors have heard plenty of details about as his federal trial enters its third week, Combs hasn’t gotten any special treatment in prison.

On top of his newfound plain lifestyle, Combs has to deal with a deteriorating facility as the MDC is known for being a cesspool of inmate violence, rodents, and understaffing.

“The MDC was one of the most troubled, if not the most troubled facility in the Bureau of Prisons,” Cameron Lindsay, a former warden at the prison, told The New York Times in 2019.

Despite its squalid conditions, the complex once housed other high-profile inmates like shamed singer R KellyGhislaine Maxwell, rapper Fetty Wap, Mexican drug lord Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, and former crypto kingpin Sam Bankman-Fried.

Mangione is also being held in the federal complex, where he awaits his next federal court date in December.

However, Mangione has stayed busy with the mountains of love letters he’s received from fans as he awaits trial for allegedly murdering UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

Combs’ trial continues on Tuesday.

Who is Luigi Mangione?

LUIGI Mangione, 26, was regarded as a beloved, clever and wealthy man by his family, friends and all who knew him.

He was born and raised in Maryland and graduated as the valedictorian from the private all-boys Gilman School in Baltimore.

He had no prior criminal history and was said to have been a model student, soccer player, and all-around athlete at high school.

One former student from the Gilman School told The U.S. Sun that Mangione was “popular” and had a “big circle of friends.”

“We went to the same school but didn’t really have the same friends. I’m really shocked by this whole thing,” the former student, who asked not to be identified, said.

“I think he played soccer, it was an all-boys school, so being a good athlete got you social currency for sure.”

Mangione graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania, where he studied computer and information science, according to his LinkedIn profile.

He also got his masters from the Ivy League school.

Mangione was reportedly a data engineer at a car company in California before moving to Hawaii.

His cousin is also Republican Maryland State Delegate Nino Mangione.
