WASHINGTON — Users on Elon Musk’s platform, X, were puzzled to see the billionaire with a black eye during an Oval Office ceremony celebrating the conclusion of his 130-day stint in the Trump administration.
“What happened to Elon, appears he has a black eye on his right,” one account speculated of the tech billionaire’s appearance.
Musk arrived for the sendoff wearing a black “Dogefather” T-shirt and matching “DOGE” hat.
The mark was visible in pictures posted Thursday as well in a separate presentation that the ex-special government employee delivered.
“Did Elon Musk get punched in the face? That looks like a classic left hook black eye. Maybe that’s why his talk was delayed?” one account speculated.
Musk, 53, assured reporters at the White House that this was “not the end of DOGE, just the beginning” and vowed that “the DOGE team will only become stronger over time.”
“He’s going to be back and forth,” President Trump added. “I’ve got a feeling.”
