A woman in Louisiana is accused of using sugar and chocolate syrup to sabotage a vehicle due to an alleged dispute over a “shared romantic partner.”

“MelRidney Robinson managed to turn a car into both a dessert buffet and a wrecking site simultaneously,” the Shreveport Police Department shared on Facebook along with the phrase, “SUGAR, SYRUP, AND SLASHING — OH MY!”

Robinson faces felony property damage charges for allegedly slashing all four tires of the vehicle, breaking both side mirrors, shattering the windshield, pouring chocolate syrup “everywhere,” and dumping sugar in the gas tank. Police say the entire act was caught on camera.

Per the police department, on May 15, Robinson pulled up in her own car to the 1600 block of Corporate Drive in Shreveport parked next to the victim’s vehicle, destroyed it, and then drove away, according to KSLA. She was later arrested.

Depending on the value of the car and its damages, if convicted, Robinson could face prison time and a fine of $1,000 or more. She also “may be ordered to make full restitution to the owner of the property,” according to the Louisiana State Legislature.

It is unclear whether the “romantic partner” to whom police alluded in their post was the owner of the vandalized vehicle or whether it was someone else.

“Let’s be real: no man is worth prison time and a criminal record,” Shreveport police wrote.
