Violent chaos on Paris streets after football club's historic win

Thousands of football fans have clashed with riot police in Paris following the Champions Cup final this morning.

A crowd resembling thousands of supporters attempted to reach the field at Allianz Arena after Paris Saint-Germain’s 5-0 victory over Inter Milan, marking its first trophy win.

Police formed a line in front of the PSG side of the stadium at the final whistle but faced challenges controlling fans who descended from the stands after the trophy presentation.

It was Paris Saint-Germain’s first premiership win in the competition. (9News)

They eventually succeeded in pushing them back into the stands, and PSG players had already returned to the locker room, seemingly cutting short the celebrations with their fans.

Players eventually made their way back to the field with the trophy after order was restored.

However, the disorder spilled out onto the streets as thousands of fans celebrated the club’s inaugural championship.

Footage showed fireworks and flares set off outside the stadium. (9News)

Emergency crews have been deployed to control the crowds, but the scene has since turned violent.
