At least 69 people have been injured so far as rescuers continue to work at the scene.

Only a few hours after the initial incident, a second bridge gave way in Russia’s Kursk region as a freight train was traveling across it, reported Alexander Khinshtein, the acting governor of Kursk Oblast.

The driver of the train was reportedly left injured.

Russian authorities blamed “illegal interference” for thr Bryansk crash.

Later in the night, an explosion reportedly ripped through a military logistics train in the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia region.

Ukraine today put out a statement claiming it had targeted the military train with fuel tankers, causing it to blow up and derail.

The statement read: “The ‘Freight Train’ was moving towards temporarily occupied Crimea.

“As a result of an explosion on the railway track, the train with fuel tanks and freight cars derailed.

“The key logistical artery of Muscovites in the occupied territories of the Zaporizhia region and Crimea was disrupted.”

Some Russian telegram channels – without any evidence – said the bridge in Bryansk was “blown up”.

Footage from Bryansk showed trucks and passenger cars ripped apart and lying on the tracks after the bridge collapsed.

Emergency workers were seen pulling out survivors from the train wreckage.

Moscow’s interregional transport prosecutor’s office said an investigation had been launched.
