MATTOON, Ill. (WCIA) — The Mattoon School District is offering free meals to kids this summer, but officials said the pickup location has changed.
Meals will be available at Riddle Elementary School from June 3 to Aug. 8. The school district said the meals are available to any child under 18.
Complimentary meals can be collected on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. According to the school district, the Tuesday collections will feature three meals, while the Thursday collections will comprise four meals.
Families who wish to participate in the free meal program are encouraged to sign up each week, allowing organizers to ensure sufficient quantities for all. You can sign up for the current week here.
The Mattoon School District also noted that students attending summer classes will be provided with breakfast and lunch during school hours, making them ineligible for meal collections on the days they are in school.
