Mayors make friendly wager on NBA Finals matchup between Pacers, Thunder

INDIANAPOLIS The mayors of Indianapolis and Oklahoma City made a friendly wager on the Pacers’ upcoming NBA Finals matchup with the Thunder.

In a post on X, Oklahoma City Mayor David Folt said he’d buy Hogsett dinner at Cattleman’s Steakhouse in Oklahoma City if the Pacers manage to beat the Thunder in the best-of-seven series. Folt added that he’d also throw in a trip to a Women’s College World Series game and a run down Oklahoma City’s Olympic whitewater rapids.

The Women’s College World Series is played in Oklahoma every year, and the state’s whitewater rapids will host events during the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

Hogsett offered the following things to Folt, should the Thunder win the NBA Finals:

  • A “hot lap” around Indianapolis Motor Speedway
  • Tickets to an Indiana Fever game
  • Dinner at St. Elmo Steak House

Indiana and Oklahoma’s governors also made an NBA Finals wager on Wednesday. A report on their bet is available here.

Game 1 of the NBA Finals will tip off on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City. More information on this year’s NBA Finals schedule is available here.
