The housemates of missing Queensland teenager Pheobe Bishop have been charged with her murder.

James Wood, 34, and Tanika Bromley, 33, were arrested tonight in the Bundaberg area, Queensland Police said.

They have been charged with one count each of murder and two counts each of interfering with a corpse.

Pheobe, 17, has not been seen or heard from since May 15.

Police said they had still not located her remains.

“During their investigation, police have conducted numerous enquiries, which include multiple searches of Good Night Scrub National Park, as well as forensic examinations of a property and vehicle in Gin Gin,” police stated.

“To date, the remains of Pheobe Bishop have not been found. Detectives are still investigating this case, and physical searches will proceed as necessary whenever new information comes to light.”

Earlier in the day, Wood had been released without charge after being questioned by police.

Wood and Bromley are due to face Bundaberg Magistrates Court tomorrow.

They were reportedly the last individuals to see Pheobe, who did not board her scheduled flight from Bundaberg Airport to Western Australia on the morning of May 15.

Pheobe was flying to visit her boyfriend in Western Australia.

According to police, she never checked in for her flight or entered the terminal.

Last week, police suspended their search of the Good Night Scrub National Park, about an hour away from where Pheobe was last seen, which had been a focus in the investigation.

All physical searches for the 17-year-old were suspended yesterday but police said more would be carried out “as needed and as information is provided”.
