CHICAGO (WLS) — Video released by the Chicago Department of Aviation shows a delivery car driving onto the tarmac at O’Hare Airport last month.

The incident took place on May 17. According to police, the vehicle was driven by a disoriented food delivery driver who unintentionally entered a restricted area intended solely for airport personnel.

The video shows a red car driving on the tarmac near planes.

The driver was not cited.

In a statement, the Chicago Department of Aviation affirmed, “The safety and security of travelers, airport staff, and facilities are the main priorities for the CDA. Over the weekend, an individual not affiliated with airport operations was found in a secured zone within O’Hare International Airport. This incident is being investigated by the CDA in collaboration with the Chicago Police Department. No operational disruptions or safety incidents were reported. The area was thoroughly checked by CPD and Aviation Security personnel as a precaution. Inquiries about charges or law enforcement actions should be referred to the Chicago Police Department. The CDA is treating this issue with utmost seriousness and will utilize the results of the investigation to determine any necessary follow-up or corrective actions.”
