A widely purchased frozen food product from IKEA outlets across Australia has been withdrawn from sale because it may contain bits of black rubber.

Food Standards Australia has issued a warning that consuming the SLAGVERK breaded wheat-based pieces could lead to health issues.

The product in question was available in 500g packages, marked with a best before date of 19-08-2025 and carries the IKEA product number 205.588.94

Food Standards Australia said the product should be returned to the place of purchase.

“Consumers should not eat this product,” the watchdog said.

“Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.”

Consumers should call IKEA on (02) 9010 0264 or visit the IKEA website for more information about the recall.
