TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Two nights. Two set lists. Four opening bands.

For the first time since October 3, 2009, Metallica played in Tampa.

The band took the stage at Raymond James Stadium on Friday.

News Channel 8 reporter Nicole Rogers asked, Metallica fan Charlene Carrugh, ‘How are the crowds? How was it getting in? How was the traffic?'”

“Traffic was a little bad, but not really,” she responded. “I thought it was going to be really bad here, but it wasn’t.”

While 60,000 fans streamed into Raymond James Stadium, coinciding with the conclusion of a Tampa Bay Rays game at Steinbrenner Field, Metallica concertgoers remarked that the roads were surprisingly less congested than anticipated and the entrance process was smooth and efficient.

And with that out of the way, Carrugh said, all that was left to do was rock out.

“Metallica!” she said. “Oh my gosh, they’ve been around forever. They’re my favorite brand.”

From far and wide, fans came from across the globe just to see Metallica take the stage.

But even for locals, it was an unforgettable experience.

For Faith Ferraiolo, it was her first concert ever.

Rogers asked, “What are you expecting going into your first concert?”

“Loud music, recording,” she giggled.

With her mom and dad by her side, it was a night they won’t soon forget.

“It’s cool to bring her to her first concert ever and to experience rock music,” her dad, Bryce Ferraiolo said. “Can’t beat that.”
