The Decatur Public Library in Decatur, Ill. is inviting individuals aged 16 and older for a video game event featuring challenges on various gaming consoles this weekend.

The library is hosting the Clash of Generations Video Gaming Challenge Event on Saturday. This celebration is part of the library’s 150th anniversary festivities and is being organized in collaboration with Clash of Generations creator Brenden Kuzel. The event provides a unique opportunity to experience Kuzel’s video gaming contest, which spans multiple consoles and games through the history of digital gaming.

Attendees aged 16 and above will have the chance to tackle challenges on different video game systems, including classic consoles like Atari and modern ones like PlayStation and Xbox. Registered participants can engage in set challenges at designated stations while exploring the evolution of gaming technology, learning about the history, and understanding the format of a typical Clash of Generations Contest.

Even though this event will not end with a winner, participants will be able to experience and try-out challenges. A full list of the consoles, games and to register, click here.

Participants can either register for the morning (9 a.m.-1 p.m.) or the afternoon (1:30-5 p.m.) session. While the playing participation is limited, the library is inviting anyone interested to stop in and cheer on the players taking on the video game challenges.

For additional information on the 150th anniversary celebration or to register for other events, visit decaturlibrary.org or follow the library on social media.
