Australian breaking cult hero made a surprise appearance at Sydney FC’s end-of-season awards ball.

The football club hosted its annual Sky Blue Ball at the luxurious Le Montage venue in Lillyfield on Wednesday night.

Footy stars from both the men’s, women’s and powerchair sides dazzled as they took to the blue carpet for the event.

She was joined by Wataru Kamijo, who picked up the men’s Young Player of the Year award, while Adrian Segecic was also voted as the Members’ Player of the Year after the winger scored 13 goals in 24 appearances for the men’s A-League side and ranked joint-top of the men’s Golden Boot race.

Top honours were awarded to Nat Tobin, who has returned from injury this season to enjoy an epic campaign, culminating in her claiming the club’s Women’s Player of the Year award.

Segecic, found himself back on the stage again not long later, with the 21-year-old picking up the Men’s Player of the Year award, having been loaned out to Dutch second-tier side FC Dordrecht last season.

Actress Emily Symons, who starred in Home and Away and Emmerdale, was also seen at the event and looked elegant as walked up the blue carpet while wearing a black gown.

Olympic star Rachel ‘Raygun’ Gunn, meanwhile, took to Instagram to publish a picture of herself and her husband and coach Samuel Free, looking very glam inside the venue.

The breaking sensation, who made headlines at the 2024 Paris Olympics, donned a stunning gown as she posed for a snap next to Free, who wore a suave tuxedo complete with a black bowtie.

She captioned the photo ‘Sky Blue Ball’ adding a light-blue ‘love-heart’ emoji.

It comes after a musical inspired by Raygun and written by comedian Stephanie Boradbridge sold out.

The musical is set to be hosted in venues around Australia and was initially put on hold after the Olympian’s lawyers had begun an intellectual property dispute with the show’s organisers.

The musical had depicted her journey at the Olympic Games last year and stirred a storm of criticism after Raygun’s legal counsel sent a letter to the organisers asking them to stop the show.

However, Raygun and Broadbridge appeared to have resolved the dispute, with the star confirming that the musical would go ahead, with multiple changes, including a new poster.

Raygun later clarified that she had not sought any legal fees from the show.

Raygun rose to fame in 2024 for her performances at the Paris Olympics.

The dancer, who is a university lecturer at Macquarie University, sent social media into meltdown after she was seen hopping around like a kangaroo while wearing a green and gold tracksuit.

In the months that followed the Olympics, Raygun has also been seen spending time with A-listers including Boy George and Richard Branson – while Adele hailed her in the middle of one of the pop singer’s concerts.
