Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrests have topped 100,000 under President Trump this year, according to a White House spokesperson.

The new figures from White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson, and would mark a big jump from the last year.

During fiscal year 2024, government data revealed that ICE detained 113,000 individuals. Jackson noted that in under six months, the administration achieved 100,000 of these arrests.

The ICE figures emerge alongside recent discord between the Trump administration and California authorities regarding ICE operations in Los Angeles, which sparked subsequent demonstrations.

President Trump dispatched 2,000 National Guard troops to the Los Angeles region on Saturday in response to protests against ICE. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt and other officials have emphasized the administration’s strict immigration enforcement while addressing the unrest.

“These operations are essential to halting and reversing the invasion of illegal criminals into the United States. In the wake of this violence, California’s feckless Democrat leaders have completely abdicated their responsibility to protect their citizens,” Leavitt said.

Earlier Monday, the president said that Los Angeles was “looking really bad” as he pushed for troops to be sent to the area.

“Looking really bad in L.A. BRING IN THE TROOPS!!!” Trump said on his Truth Social platform.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) recently said his state will sue the Trump administration due to its deployment of the National Guard to subdue protests against federal immigration raids.
