David Huerta Released on Bond for Attempted Obstruction of ICE, Cosplays as Trump's Political Prisoner

At 58, Huerta, who is the president of the Service Employees International Union California (SEIU), faces charges related to plotting to interfere with a law enforcement officer during an anti-ICE demonstration held in Los Angeles on June 6.

On Monday, Huerta was released from custody on $50,000 bond.

Upon his release, he addressed his union members, saying, “I just want to convey to my members … that I hope, though I’m unsure if ‘forgiveness’ is the right term.” He added, “Being arrested was not my plan. I sincerely hope I did not inadvertently endanger any of them.”

Huerta’s arrest occurred on that Friday as federal agents were carrying out a search warrant at a Los Angeles establishment accused of employing undocumented workers and falsifying job documentation.

The court filings detail the circumstances behind his arrest, so there is no mystery. If convicted, Huerta faces a maximum sentence of six years in federal prison.

Huerta reportedly sat down in front of a vehicular gate and encouraged others to walk in circles to try to prevent law enforcement from entering or exiting.

The agent stated it was clear “he and the others had planned in advance of arrival to disrupt the operation.”

A law enforcement officer approached Huerta, told him to leave, and then put hands on him to move him.

Huerta allegedly pushed back, and the officer pushed Huerta to the ground before arresting him, the filing states.

But SEIU is acting like Huerta is a persecuted political prisoner rather than a person charged with a federal crime because of his own foolish actions.

DAVID IS RELEASED and with his family! He still faces an unjust felony charge.

SEIU CA USWW President David Huerta was assaulted and arrested while standing up for immigrants’ rights.

While we’re relieved that David is out after three nights in detention, we demand the Trump regime drop the unjust charge against him & end the raids!

Apparently, California Democrat legislators, U.S. Congressmen, and Senators are demanding an investigation into Huerta’s arrest and demanding that ICE be suspended from the city. When the unions say, “Jump,” the Democrats say, “How High?” Gotta ensure they keep the donations flowing to their campaign coffers.

According to author Peter Schweizer, the ICE operation where Huerta inserted himself to obstruct had less to do with illegal workers and more to do with money laundering. So, why did Huerta know to go there on that day, and toward what end?

It seems bigger corruption is being exposed, and neither Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass nor Gov. Gavin Newsom want this to happen. They are flat-out refusing to cooperate with ICE and allow them to conduct their investigations and removal operations. They are content to continue to foster, coddle, and maintain their corrupt operations at any cost, despite what the citizens of the city and the state have to say. In their mind, illegals are not the problem: ICE is, and they are the ones who need to pack up and go. Bass has gone on the record saying as much. When asked by ABC 7 what she would say to the Trump administration right now, she emphatically said, “Stop the raids! Stop the raids. Period.”

Mmmkay.

No doubt Huerta will be making the rounds of every legacy media and progressive podcast with this same message, cosplaying as the political prisoner in Trump’s fascist regime.
