Florida Man Pretended to Be Flight Attendant to Book 120 Free Flights Over 6 Years

A federal grand jury last week convicted a south Florida man of wire fraud and entering a secure area of an airport by false pretenses.

Tiron Alexander, 35, masqueraded as a flight attendant to secure free flights between 2018 and 2024 by exploiting “an airline carrier’s website” solely accessible to pilots and flight attendants, as reported by the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida.

Through that platform, Alexander reserved 34 flights. However, evidence presented during the trial indicated he arranged over 120 complimentary flights with three additional airline carriers.

The US Attorney’s Office revealed, “Alexander falsely asserted via the airline carrier’s website application process — which necessitated applicants to declare whether they were pilots or flight attendants and provide employer, date of hire, and badge number details — that he was employed by seven different airlines and maintained about 30 distinct badge numbers and hire dates.”

The Transportation Security Administration investigated the case, and sentencing has been set for August 25.

He faces up to 30 years in prison, WFOR said.
