Dad Possibly Tossed Missing 2-Year-Old Son Into River During Custodial Visit

A body was reportedly found on Wednesday during a search for a 2-year-old boy who disappeared a month earlier.

On May 10, Montrell Williams disappeared while visiting his father as part of a custody arrangement. The father allegedly informed the mother that he had thrown their child into the Bronx River. According to sources from the New York Daily News, a body was found in the water at Ferry Point Park, located approximately two miles away from where the Bronx River merges with the East River.

On Monday, Williams’ father was ordered to remain jailed after he refused to tell the courts where his son is.

Reports suggest that surveillance cameras captured footage of the father and son walking near the Bronx River on May 10. NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch mentioned that witnesses saw someone tossing a parcel from a bridge into the river.

According to WNBC, Williams’ father left a family gathering with his son on May 10 without returning. The boy’s mother promptly contacted the police to report her son missing. However, sources indicated that the incident was initially recorded as a domestic matter, preventing the case from being properly escalated to detectives.

Williams’ father and paternal grandmother reportedly also argued the day the boy disappeared. The grandmother went to the police a day later.

Sources told WNBC that Williams’ mother and other family members repeatedly called the police again after the father failed to return the child in accordance with their custody agreement.

Williams’ mother spotted her son’s father on the street in Manhattan on Saturday and confronted him about their son. The father was arrested after he allegedly pulled a knife on her, leading her to call the cops. Sources claimed it was during that incident when Williams’ father said he threw their son in the river.

Williams’ father has not been charged in connection with his son’s disappearance or presumed death.
