Lionel Messi has been partnered with adidas since 2006, when the Argentine icon signed an exclusive deal with the sportswear giant.
Nearly two decades on, the collaboration remains strong, consistently delivering new apparel and, most notably, football boots.
The latest release is a nostalgic nod to the past.
Scheduled for release this summer, adidas is set to bring back the iconic F50 Messi Elite FG Tunit, a cherished design from their archives. As highlighted by House of Heat, this model revisits the past with bold enthusiasm, resurrecting the beloved Tunit boots that were highly popular in the late 2000s.
Drawing direct inspiration from the F50 Tunit models released between 2007 and 2009, this revamped edition captures nostalgia with its unique aesthetic. It features a distinctive curved mid-foot graphic that merges seamlessly into the three symbolic stripes at the toe, reminiscent of the style Messi sported during his early years at Barcelona.

But these boots aren’t just about looks—they incorporate cutting-edge technology as well.
Footy Headlines notes that the F50s, in their striking white and pink colorway, include a thin fibertouch upper that improves ball control. The design also boasts a compression fit tongue for superior comfort, and it incorporates “Lightstrike Pro” foam—commonly used in adidas’ running shoes—to boost energy return.
Retailing at around £220, the F50 Messi Elite FG Tunit is scheduled for release in June via adidas’ official website.
Pricey, sure—but if you’re a Messi fan looking for a boot that captures the spirit of his early days, this one hits the mark.
