Royal fans have praised Princess Anne’s unwavering dedication to royal duties as she joined the King’s birthday parade on horseback – one year after being hit in the head by a horse.
They compared the 74-year-old – who is the late Queen Elizabeth II’s only daughter – to Princess Charlotte, the 10-year-old daughter of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
The Princess Royal was the picture of grace as she rode through the procession in full military regalia while saluting the adoring crowd that gathered in central London to catch a glimpse of Britain’s most famous family.
It was hard to believe that Anne was forced to step back from public duties last June when she suffered a concussion and was treated in hospital after being hit by a horse’s ‘head or legs’.
Despite this, the Princess did not shy away from the task of representing the family at the Trooping the Colour festivities on Saturday – as fans noted the similarities between Charlotte and the ‘hardest-working’ royal.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one person wrote online: ‘I think the daughter Princess [Charlotte] will be a force, just like Princess Anne is.’
Another made the same connection, writing of the youngster’s parade appearance: ‘Princess Charlotte is giving Princess Anne vibes here! She is such a beautiful little girl!’
Many pointed to the apparent fortitude of the female royals, with one fan saying: ‘The females are the strength, including Princess Anne.’

Often referred to as the hardest-working royal, the late Queen Elizabeth II’s daughter looked poised as she saluted the crowds
A classic picture of tradition and elegance, Anne has a loyal fanbase.
One watcher of the elaborate procession wrote: ‘Princess Anne is such an amazing lady. Dedicated, loyal, and hard working. A credit to the Royal family.’
Echoing the sentiment, an avid royal follower said: ‘Princess Anne is just awesome, she’s a true stalwart of our Royal Family, always has been, always does her duty perfectly.’
The Royal family revealed last year that Princess Anne was being treated at Southmead Hospital in Bristol after she was said to have been kicked by a horse on her Gatcombe Park estate in Gloucestershire.
The royal, a skilled horsewoman who competed in the 1976 Montreal Olympics, was going for a walk when the incident occurred.
Emergency services were sent to the estate and, after being given medical care at the scene, Anne was transferred to hospital for tests, treatment and observation.
Anne has often been dubbed the ‘hardest working royal’, and a former staff member who worked closely with her for several years told MailOnline at the time: ‘She’s an amazing woman and will quickly bounce back.

And royal fans have even compared princess Anne to Princess Charlotte, 11, who appears to be stepping into her role with similar calm and poise
‘No one would ever dare to tell her to slow down when I was there and I doubt it will change even after this.’
One person wrote online: ‘Princess Anne is amazing! She is both dedicated and hard working. QE2 would have been proud of her children, grandchildren, & great grand children who were present at this event.’
As the images of Anne during the procession circulated, the response was wholly positive.
‘The indomitable Princess Anne on horseback,’ said one user simply.
And another chimed in: ‘Princess Anne is magnificent, as always.’
Anne appears to hold a special place in the nation’s hearts, with one commenter writing: ‘Princess Anne remains the best Royal. I don’t make the rules.’
Anne is a key member of the King’s slimmed-down working monarchy, and has played a big role by stepping up in support of Charles amid his cancer diagnosis.
The Princess is known for her no-nonsense approach and her commitment to royal duty.

Royal fans rushed to social media to share their praise of Princess Anne following her accident
Once today’s parade had concluded, the Princess Royal joined her brother the King in the balcony of Buckingham Palace to watch the iconic RAF flypast.
Crowds of well-wishers and royal fans lined the Mall ahead of this morning’s Trooping the Colour and, if the cardboard cutouts they carried were any indication, the Princess of Wales’ arrival was most eagerly anticipated.
Photos showed a group of Britons holding up a life-sized picture of the Princess of Wales, wearing the red, long-sleeved Alexander McQueen dress she most famously donned for the Diamond Jubilee pageant in 2012.
Another person was carting around a cut-out of King Charles, dressed in full military regalia, in a show of support for the monarch as he continues to receive treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer.
Other images show The Mall decorated with Union flags – with one group of women also wearing themed outfits for today’s event that marks the monarch’s official birthday in a tradition dating back to the 17th century.
The King’s actual birthday is November 14, but is officially celebrated at Trooping the Colour, which is – like this year – traditionally held on the second Saturday in June.
