An enormous crowd of looters descended on an AutoZone store in southern Los Angeles early Monday morning, possibly due to a street takeover, causing extensive damage and theft of goods.

Over 100 people were observed forcing their way into the establishment around 4:00 a.m., according to Fox 11 Los Angeles, which referenced both police reports and Citizen app footage.

The Los Angeles Police Department informed Fox News Digital that a radio alert was issued with a ‘Burglary Suspects There Now’ message on the 9800 block of South Hoover Street. “The call details mentioned about 20 individuals were taking items from the store,” they added.

Individuals ripped open a metal fence, shattered glass and broke display cases to steal merchandise, Fox 11 reported. It remains unclear how much in value was taken during the incident.

Police estimated that last year’s incident resulted in $67,000 in merchandise losses, according to the local outlet.

Following the 2024 incident, security camera footage helped law enforcement in identifying and arresting many of the suspects, the outlet added.
