A woman was unable to be revived after being pulled from a burning unit in Cremorne.

This morning, paramedics were unsuccessful in reviving a woman who was extracted from a fire that erupted in an apartment unit at a Cremorne building, located on Sydney’s lower north shore.

Emergency first responders arrived at the home on Allister Street at around 7am.

Firefighters pulled a woman from the unit before paramedics attempted to perform CPR on her.

However, the woman died at the scene, NSW Police said.

The woman is yet to be formally identified; however, is believed to be aged in her 60s.

The fire was extinguished shortly after.

Officers attached to North Shore Police Area Command have established a crime scene and detectives have commenced an investigation into the incident.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
