Matheus Cunha’s time at Wolverhampton Wanderers appears to be drawing to a close.

The Brazilian forward, pivotal to Wolves’ continued presence in the Premier League with his 15 goals and impressive displays in attack, is reportedly nearing a transfer to Manchester United, potentially marking one of the biggest moves this summer.

An agreement has reportedly been reached between the clubs, with personal terms finalized, and both United and Wolves have allegedly settled on a payment arrangement for Cunha’s £62.5m release clause.

The 26-year-old is expected to sign a five-year contract at Old Trafford, with the option to extend for an additional year.

In anticipation of the move, Cunha seemed to bid farewell to his Wolves and Brazil teammates, João Gomes and André, by presenting them with Rolex watches. This gesture was linked to a promise linked to the team’s successful avoidance of relegation, but the accompanying heartfelt notes suggested a final goodbye.

“Thank you for all the moments, you will always be in my heart,” Cunha wrote in a card to both players. “I will always be in love with you and your family. I love you.”

Gomes shared a video of André discovering the Rolex in the dressing room, followed by a warm embrace with Cunha.

André also paid tribute to his departing teammate, posting a photo of the two warming up together during the season with the caption: “I’m sure you will shine wherever you go, my friend. May God bless you and your family.”

Manchester United will certainly be hoping he does just that.
