EXCLUSIVE: 9News can reveal high-profile Sydney Rapper “Chillinit” has been arrested and charged with multiple offences.
The allegation is that he pushed his wife during a heated confrontation at Humphrey’s Hotel at Hurstville on Saturday night.
Speaking exclusively to 9News, the rapper, whose real name is Blake Turnell, strongly denied the allegations.
“It’s pretty upsetting, I would never ever do something like that and anyone who knows me, including my family and partner would vouch for that.”
“There was a situation with a couple of individuals, and I attempted to calm things down… in retrospect, I probably should have just walked away; that’s a lesson learned,” the 31-year-old remarked.
Turnell was detained on Saturday night and has already admitted to the charge of malicious damage, which involves a shattered shop window. He has volunteered to cover the repair costs.
His lawyer, Ahmed Dib said he is certain the charges will be dropped.
“CCTV footage we’ve viewed so far shows he’s not the instigator… he was the person trying to difuse the situation,” he said.
In a statement, NSW Police told 9News they arrived at the scene just before midnight on Saturday.
“At approximately 11:40 on Saturday, June 14, 2025, Police were dispatched to Forest Road, Hurstville, following reports that a 31-year-old man had allegedly shoved a 29-year-old woman before kicking a glass door, resulting in a crack,” the authorities stated.
Officers attached to St George Police Area Command arrested the 31-year-old man at the scene before he was charged with common assault (DV) and malicious damage.
Turnell returns to Sutherland Court on July 30.
