Girl Scouts from all over the country will converge in Savannah, Georgia, where the organization was founded, to participate in a symbolic bridge-crossing over the Talmadge Bridge. This event represents the traditional ceremony where Girl Scouts transition from one level to the next.

The annual event, organized by the Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia, includes participants of all ages: from Daisies progressing to Brownies, Brownies advancing to Juniors, and continuing up to Ambassadors. The bridge offers a memorable location for this significant ceremony, set in the very place where Girl Scouting was established in 1912.

This year, Krystal Crawford, the new CEO of the Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia, shared her thoughts on the significance of troops visiting the organization’s origin. “The spirit of [Girl Scouts founder] Juliet Gordon Low is alive in Savannah. When the girls come to Savannah, they are in the place our founder lived. They will feel that spirit of Girl Scouts. How inspiring it is to be connected to such a thing. I am excited to share the city of Savannah with Girl Scouts far and wide.”

The “Bridge Savannah’s Bridge” ceremony is Saturday, June 21 at 8 a.m.
