Kingsport PD: Pursuit of attempted murder suspect ends in crash

An attempted murder suspect led police on a pursuit in Kingsport, Tenn., resulting in a crash with injuries Thursday night, according to the Kingsport Police Department (KPD).

Authorities stated that officers engaged in a high-speed chase with 20-year-old Donovan L. Diggs after locating him near Eastman Road and Fort Henry Drive.

Diggs was wanted for attempted first-degree murder, according to KPD.

The pursuit ended on John B. Dennis Highway near Moreland Drive when Diggs’ vehicle was “forcefully stopped.”

Diggs was airlifted to a hospital for treatment of his injuries. A 16-year-old passenger, believed to have sustained minor injuries, was also transported to a hospital, the KPD reported.

No one else was injured in the incident.
