City of Savannah to showcase Ben Van Clark Park improvements

The City of Savannah’s Recreation and Leisure Services Department is set to showcase the new enhancements at Ben Van Clark/Live Oak Park with a ribbon-cutting event on June 25 at 3:30 p.m.

As a part of the City’s Recreation Re-Imagine initiative, which aims to enhance recreational facilities across the city, the park has received several upgrades. These include a brand new splashpad, an updated pavilion, new water fountains, improved signage, and enhancements to the basketball court.

The total cost for these improvements was $129,700. This amount is part of an over $600,000 investment in District 2, and a broader citywide investment of more than $4 million dedicated to upgrading recreational infrastructure through the Recreation Re-Imagine program.

City leaders and staff will be on site to officially open the splashpad and celebrate the other improvements. The event is free and open to the public. All residents are encouraged to attend and join in the celebration.
