SAVANNAH, Ga. () — Girl Scouts from all over the United States assembled in Savannah on Saturday for a distinctive celebration of growth, tradition, and sisterhood called “Bridging Savannah’s Bridge.”

This unique event, where girls ceremonially “bridge” to the next level of Girl Scouting by crossing the Talmadge Bridge, occurs annually. Hosted by the Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia, this ceremony celebrates the transition girls experience as they advance from one Girl Scout level to the next—from Daisies to Brownies, Brownies to Juniors, and continuing up to Ambassadors.

“It’s definitely a once-in-a-lifetime thing. People come from all over the country. We had some girls from Puerto Rico here today, who were very excited to join us,” noted Eva O’Donnell with the Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia.

Leading the way was Krystal Crawford, the new CEO of the Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia. Crawford, who encouraged everyone to enjoy the beauty of Savannah while celebrating the Girl Scouts. “We just had one of our new hybrid ferries named after Juliet Gordon Low [the founder of the Girl Scouts], so come out and enjoy a beautiful ride on the Savannah River to celebrate the achievements of our Girl Scouts!”
