A man in Wyoming is accused of suddenly pulling out a gun on two women and telling them he was going to play Russian roulette.

Jonathan Douglas Potter, age 38, has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault and battery for allegedly threatening to use a deadly weapon, based on information from KGAB, a local radio station. If convicted, he may face up to ten years in prison for this offense.

The altercation began in the early hours of Tuesday when Potter visited a woman’s residence in Cheyenne, accompanied by another woman, to deliver medications.

The pair entered the home, and Potter used the bathroom, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by Cowboy State Daily.

The legal document specifies that upon exiting, Potter remarked he needed to “get strapped,” then allegedly drew a Bersa .380-caliber pistol and “aimed it at them.”

The suspect is said to have then “told them he was going to play Russian roulette with the handgun,” taking the magazine out of the gun and placing his finger through the trigger guard and swinging the gun around, according to the affidavit.

The alleged action apparently did not amuse the women, who both allegedly told Laramie County deputies they “feared for their lives.”

The woman who lived in the house told authorities she asked Potter to leave several times, and the woman who arrived with Potter is said to have run and hid in the bathroom, authorities say.
