Oxygen True Crime, known for its impressive crime programming, is set to launch the sixth season of Buried in the Backyard on Saturday, July 12 at 8 p.m. ET/PT with a special two-hour premiere.

Buried in the Backyard brings to light the tragic narratives of ordinary individuals who have become victims of unimaginable crimes – heinous acts that perpetrators attempt to conceal, hoping they remain undiscovered. This season delves into intricate investigations involving unsuspecting victims whose unfortunate encounters with killers reveal the sinister minds willing to go to great lengths to hide the truth. From the chilling hush of snow-laden grounds to the scalding solitude of sun-drenched deserts, and from the shadowy bowels of forests to the deceptive calm of everyday backyards, these are the sites where the most sinister crimes lie hidden, just out of sight.

Buried in the Backyard is produced by Renegade 83, a branch of Lionsgate Alternative Television, with executive producers David Garfinkle, Jay Renfroe, Bob Kusbit, and Billie Speer. Bobby Munster will contribute as a co-executive producer.

What to expect from Season 6

The series dives into new themed episodes, including “Buried in the Backyard,” “Buried in the Woods,” “Buried in the Sand” and “Buried in the Snow,” each uncovering secrets long hidden beneath the surface.

  • In the season premiere, an idyllic North Carolina town makes international press with a double murder involving a victim who was once accused of assassinating Sweden’s prime minister.
  • A 21-year-old goes missing during the height of the pandemic as LAPD detectives unravel a mystery hidden in a deleted security video to solve a murder.
  • The disappearance of a beloved Michigan mom leads investigators to uncover that she was the target of a dark satanic ritual.
