GROVETOWN, Ga. () – A Grovetown man has been taken into custody after being indicted on crimes that involved the exploitation of minors.

Officials state that on January 14th, Grovetown Police Department investigators, who are part of the GBI Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, received leads suggesting that Alejandra Booher was using the “Kik” social media application to seek Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).

Investigators report receiving ongoing cyber alerts, indicating Booher’s persistent efforts to acquire CSAM. Warrants executed afterward uncovered Booher’s activities of pretending to be a young female in online chat rooms and soliciting other males for CSAM.

Authorities state that during several of these chats, Booher made specific requests for videos containing children, to include infants.

The Grovetown Police Department shared evidence with the Columbia County Grand Jury, which resulted in Booher being charged with eight violations under the Child Exploitation and Prevention Act. However, during the investigation, Booher relocated from their home on the 900 block of Cannock Street in Grovetown to the 1100 block of Nancelon Circle in Evans, according to investigators.

According to authorities, Booher was taken into custody on Friday at his residence and transported to the Columbia County Detention Center for the listed charges.
