As Yosemite Sam would said: “What in tarnation??”
A beachgoer in the Sunshine State happened upon an unusual discovery while enjoying a day on the sand over the weekend.
On Sunday, a total of twenty-five enigmatic black packages, each adorned with an illustration of the well-known cartoon character Yosemite Sam, were discovered washed ashore on a beach in the Florida Panhandle, as reported by the Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
The bricks contained a whopping $500,000 worth of cocaine, police said.
The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office has relinquished the investigation to Homeland Security following the arrival of packages on an Alabama shoreline on Thursday, June 26, 2025. These packages were found to contain a staggering 50 kilos of cocaine, each wrapped individually.
The department commented via social media, “It is not unusual for more bundles of illegal goods to appear,” while also urging the community to refrain from opening any of these packages, as they might harbor hazardous chemicals or dangerous drugs.
The sheriff’s office subsequently contacted the Department of Homeland Security’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) to take over the case, according to the department’s statement.
HSI did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
