In March, the acclaimed filmmaker Spike Lee was seen at San Siro, attending Inter’s Champions League clash with Feyenoord as a special guest of the team.

Fast forward a few months, and the director of “Do The Right Thing” and “Malcolm X” has now joined forces with the Nerazzurri to craft a short film in partnership with the team. This film was unveiled ahead of Inter’s involvement in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, set to take place in the United States.

This cinematic piece serves as the introduction to Inter’s fresh global identity initiative, “My Name Is My Story,” which is designed to present the club to a more extensive, international, and diverse audience.

Running just over three minutes, the short blends classic Spike Lee storytelling with Inter’s rich history. It showcases iconic moments and players from the club’s past – Ronaldo Nazário, Javier Zanetti, Giuseppe Meazza and even cult hero Adriano, who appears via his famously overpowered Pro Evolution Soccer character.

Lee also touches on Inter’s trailblazing beginnings – emphasising how the club was formed in response to early league restrictions on foreign players. From that defiant start, Inter went on to build a legacy as a global powerhouse, with male and female players representing cultures from all over the world.

“This club’s name is about being something for everyone – for people on, around, and far beyond the pitch, in Milano and everywhere,” says Lee in the film. “We are brothers and sisters of the world,” he adds, quoting the club’s now-iconic motto.

Speaking on the collaboration, Giorgio Ricci, Inter’s Chief Revenue Officer, said: “With a view to our arrival in the United States for the FIFA Club World Cup, we’ve come up with an innovative and authentic way to tell our story to younger generations.

“Being able to present ourselves to an international audience with a contribution from a world-renowned director in Spike Lee is an extraordinary thing and represents a great opportunity to make our brand all the more relevant on the global stage,” he added.

Inter’s cinematic moment of self-introduction now sets the stage for their real-world spotlight – they kick off their Club World Cup campaign against Mexican outfit Monterrey.
