ATLANTA (AP) — A second person has died after a fraternity picnic at an Atlanta park ended in gunfire on Saturday.

Atlanta police said Monday that Justin Minnitee, 23, died from his injuries.

Witnesses reported that Minnittee showed up at the picnic hosted by Kappa Alpha Psi at Coan Park, located southeast of downtown Atlanta, and started an argument with attendees of the event organized by the historically Black fraternity.

“Based on current information, an uninvited individual appeared at the venue, sparking a confrontation, which escalated to both parties drawing weapons and exchanging gunfire,” Lt. Andrew Smith of the Atlanta Police stated to WAGA-TV.

Authorities indicate that at least two individuals were involved in the gunfight. On Saturday, officials confirmed that Andrew Pearson, aged 33, succumbed to a gunshot wound to the head at the park. WSB-TV reported Pearson’s association with Kappa Alpha Psi.

Minnittee died later after being hospitalized.

Two other people took themselves to the hospital. One was grazed by gunfire, while the other was admitted to be treated for injuries.

Police said they’re still investigating.
