Jennette McCurdy‘s life and words are headed to Apple TV+.

On Tuesday, a streaming platform revealed they’ve acquired a new series inspired by the memoir I’m Glad My Mom Died, written by the alum of iCarly and Sam & Cat. Released in 2022, this book by McCurdy has stayed on the New York Times Best Seller list for more than 80 weeks. As per Simon & Schuster’s website, the memoir has sold over 3 million copies.

The series will include a well-known face for the streaming service. Jennifer Aniston, currently leading the cast of The Morning Show on Apple TV+, will star as McCurdy’s mother and serve as an executive producer for the series.

In a statement from Apple TV+, McCurdy’s memoir is characterized as “a poignant and humorous tale of [her] challenges as a former child star while coping with her controlling and dominant mother.”

“The dramedy will center on the the codependent relationship between an 18-year-old actress in a hit kid’s show, and her narcissistic mother who relishes in her identity as ‘a starlet’s mother,’ set to be played by Aniston,” the press release details.

Other executive producers on the 10-episode series include McCurdy and Ari Katcher (who also serve as writers and showrunners), Bad Sisters creator Sharon Horgan and Stacy Greenberg for Merman; Dani Gorin, Tom Ackerley and Josey McNamara for LuckyChap; Jerrod Carmichael, and Erica Kay.

McCurdy opened up further about the abusive and traumatic relationship she had with her mother on the press tour for her book, reading a startling email she received from her calling her “a little slut” and “a floozy” on Red Table Talk, and recalling the moment she learned that the father she grew up with was not her biological father on The Drew Barrymore Show. In her book, McCurdy also looked back on the stresses and competition involved in child fame, and confessed to being “jealous” of her Sam & Cat co-star Ariana Grande, who at the time was a “burgeoning pop star.”
