The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says multiple people were detained when officers responded to the scene.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — On Wednesday, several individuals were taken into custody after authorities discovered a deceased man with numerous blunt-force injuries at Cross Creek Apartments situated on Jacksonville’s Westside, as reported by investigators from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

According to JSO Sgt. Dishman, around 3:30 a.m., patrol officers were dispatched to the apartment complex on Manotak Avenue following reports of a “dispute.”

When they arrived, Dishman said the man, estimated to be in his 40s, was found dead in a breezeway/hallway.

Detectives from JSO’s crime scene and homicide units then responded to the scene, according to Dishman.

“There are multiple people currently detained and detectives are speaking to them about what occurred,” Dishman said.

Dishman further told First Coast News that JSO does not yet know the circumstances that led up to man’s death or relationships of those involved.

If anyone has information regarding the man’s death, they are urged to contact JSO’s non-emergency line at 904-630-0500. Information can also be provided anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
