LOS ANGELES (ASSOCIATED PRESS) — Actor Michael Madsen, renowned for his intimidating roles in “Reservoir Dogs” and “Kill Bill,” which made him a memorable presence in Quentin Tarantino’s films, has passed away.

Madsen’s manager reports that the actor was found unresponsive at his residence in Malibu, California on Thursday and was pronounced dead due to what seemed to be cardiac arrest.

Madsen’s career encompassed more than 300 credits dating back to the early 1980s, often in low-budget productions. However, his most unforgettable screen moment might be the brutal torturing of a captured police officer in 1992’s “Reservoir Dogs.” He would go on to become a Tarantino fixture, featuring in the “Kill Bill” series and “The Hateful Eight.”

Madsen was 66.
