President Donald Trump outed himself as a source for spilling details on nemesis Elon Musk’s drug use, the president’s controversial biographer revealed.

Michael Wolff, who penned the eye-popping book Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House told The Daily Beast’s Podcast on Wednesday that Musk has been a frequent topic of conversation for Trump this week.

Trump is known to call around to his friends and political allies on a near-daily basis.

‘He’s like, calling people to say, ‘do you think Elon is crazy” Wolff said of the president. ‘In one of these phone calls – many of them – he was on about, you know, how many drugs he takes: ‘He takes drugs all the time. You know that, don’t you? You know, The New York Times wrote about it. They said, he takes drugs.”

The Times reported that during the 2024 presidential campaign, the billionaire used so much ketamine he was having bladder problems and also used Ecstasy, psychedelic mushrooms and what appeared to be Adderall.

Musk has denied The Times’ reporting and released a drug test online since.

In one of Trump’s calls this week, Wolff claimed that Trump actually took credit for The Times’ piece.

The president said, ‘actually, we dropped a dime to The New York Times … on Elon’s drug taking.’

President Donald Trump, captured talking to reporters on board Air Force One on Tuesday, has reportedly been talking to friends and allies about Elon Musk a lot this week - and even floated that his camp flagged Musk's drug use to The New York Times, author Michael Wolff revealed

Wolff said he had no idea if somebody from Trump’s team actually revealed those details to the paper but Trump ‘is just claiming credit for now.’

White House Communications Director Steven Cheung told the Daily Mail when asked about Wolff’s claims: ‘This idiot Michael Wolff is either a liar or suffering from dementia due to a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome.’

The New York Times story was published on May 30, which coincided with the final day Trump invited the Tesla and SpaceX head to appear alongside him in the Oval Office, as Musk concluded his work with the Department of Government Efficiency.

The timing of the story made things awkward, as Musk was forced to address the allegations, with Trump seated at his side at the Resolute Desk.

‘Is the New York Times – is that the same publication that’s got a Pulitzer Prize for false reporting on Russiagate?’ Musk mused. ‘I think it is.’

‘Russiagate’ has become the catch-all term for the FBI investigation into Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and whether there was collusion with Russia.

‘That New York Times? Let’s move on!’ Musk added, with Trump grinning at his side.

It took just six days for the growing Trump-Musk rift to spill out into the open.

Musk was disgusted over the Trump-supported ‘Big, Beautiful Bill,’ arguing that it erased all the work he did leading DOGE.

Since their June 5 public break-up, Musk has threatened to start a new, third political party and buttress the reelection campaign of Republican Rep. Thomas Massie, one of the no votes on Trump’s big bill.

Longtime Trump pollster Jim McLaughlin jokingly pointed to Musk’s alleged drug use when asked whether the billionaire could be a potent third-party leader.

‘I think it’s the ketamine talking in the middle of the night,’ McLaughlin told The Washington Post. ‘Trump is the Republican Party right now. He is the conservative movement. There’s not a hankering for a third party with Elon Musk.’
