Two teenagers charged after allegedly crashing stolen car into tow truck on the Gold Coast

Two teenagers have been charged over an alleged hit and run involving a stolen car on the Gold Coast overnight.

Authorities claim that the teenagers were involved in an incident where a stolen white Mercedes GLC collided with a tow truck at a service station on Signato Drive in Helensvale around 8 p.m. They reportedly left the area without stopping.

The tow truck driver became pinned between the two vehicles in the car.

He was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition with leg injuries.

The stolen Mercedes was found around 40 minutes later parked on Ken Crescent with two teenagers inside, police said.

Two boys, both aged 17, were taken into custody.

One of the 17-year-olds was charged with multiple offences including unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving and assault.

The second boy was charged with one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, entering dwelling and commit and receiving tainted property.

Both were refused police bail and are due to appear before Southport Childrens Court on July 7.
