Kristen Doute surprised Brittany Cartwright with a very special title.
Weeks after giving birth to her daughter, Kaia Lily Broderick, The Valley mom revealed she had listed Brittany as her baby’s emergency contact.
“We were at our pediatrician’s office, and Brittany is our emergency contact in California,” Kristen told Us Weekly. “I actually mentioned it to her. I said, ‘So I didn’t ask you beforehand, but you’re Kaia’s emergency contact.’ She’s thrilled about it.”
Kristen Doute says Brittany Cartwright is “so excited” about her newborn
Kristen and her fiancé, Luke Broderick, welcomed their baby girl on June 11, and have spent the last few weeks adjusting to life as new parents. Even though this experience can be intimidating for many, Kristen mentioned that she and Luke have received a lot of support from their castmates, many of whom have been parents for years.
The Valley cast member mentioned that her newborn has already met Brittany and Cruz Cauchi, the 4-year-old son Brittany has with her estranged husband, Jax Taylor.

“[Brittany’s] been over a couple of times, but she’s so excited about it,” Kristen said. “She knew the gender of our baby before we did, so it only makes perfect sense. She lives right down the street from us. I’m over there all the time.”
It’s unclear if Jax has met baby Kaia; however, Kristen made it quite clear she will never enlist Jax for babysitting duties.
“I wouldn’t let Jax babysit Luke’s Gecko, who requires no work whatsoever,” she joked. “Absolutely not. I wouldn’t let Jax babysit my Yeti. Like, no.”

Kristen also gave a special shout-out to her castmates Danny Booko and Nia Sanchez Booko, who welcomed their fourth child less than a month ago.
“Nia has helped me through my fertility journey and through my entire pregnancy,” Kristen said. “We’re sending voice memos to each other every single day. She’s literally in the same exact position I’m in right now, but she’s just done this before. Her and Danny are just both right there to give us any advice that we need, and they’re always on call… We have a group text with Nia, Danny, Luke, and me, and even if I’m texting Nia one-on-one, she’ll reel it back to the four of us, and she’s like, ‘Daniel really wants to be involved. It’s just really great to have the two of them.”

Kristen and Luke have also received help from Zack Wickham, who house-sat for the couple while Kristen was in the hospital. Their castmate Jesse Lally, who shares a 5-year-old daughter, Isabella, with his estranged wife, Michelle Saniei, has also been checking in on the couple and blessing Luke with a few father tips.
“[Jesse has] given a lot of really amazing advice as a girl dad to Luke and just constantly checking in on us and seeing if we need anything,” Kristen revealed. “Jesse’s been fantastic.”
